Lamborghini Overview
Ferrucio Lamborghini was born in 1916.
Following the end of the second world war he founded a tractor factory recognising the likely explosion in agriculture following the war.
In 1963 he established the company Automobile Ferruccio Lamborghini, believing that he could improve on the problems he identified in other brands. He believed that he could develop supercars to rival Ferrari. Many thought he was mad to try.
However, In a short time, a large and modern factory was producing cars in Bologna.
Always a visionary he named his cars after fighting bulls to accentuate their power and grace. Lamborghini died in 1993 but his vision continues.
His supercars are now legendary from the earliest 350GT of 1964, the Espada of 1967, the Miura and Countach of 1970 through to the Diablo of 1990 and the modern cars. Gallardo, Murciélago and the Huracan and the Aventador.
The Lamborghini has had many owners over the years since the death of Ferruccio Lamborghini.It was acquired by current owners Volkswagen Group in 1998 and was placed under the control of the group's Audi division.
